French Journalist Detained by Israeli Troops in Syria

French journalist Sylvain Mercadier was detained on Wednesday for over four hours, during which he was “threatened and humiliated” by Israeli forces while reporting on their advance in Syria. Mercadier was reportedly in the southwestern Syrian province of Quneitra where Israeli forces have been seizing additional territory beyond what they already occupied of the Golan Heights.

Poland Tinkers The With Law For Netanyahu

Poland has adopted a resolution promising that senior Israeli officials–including Netanyahu–can freely travel to Poland for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp later this month.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued in November arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former defence chief, Yoav Gallant, for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

The war crimes include using “starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.”

Germany Condemns…

Germany has condemned Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s remarks calling for the destruction of Palestinian cities like Jenin and Nablus in the West Bank, comparing them to the devastation of Jabalia in northern Gaza. Smotrich’s exact words were, “Funduq, Nablus, and Jenin must look like Jabalia,” sparking fears of further killings, forced displacement, and the erasure of Palestinian existence.
